Can't build -lsmith

I am working on my building my simple house and I guess I have it too close to the edge. All the items are deposited and I just need to build it. However, I am getting a message saying there is something in the way. There is a bamboo bush/tree. I was able to remove all but two which I think is keeping me from completing the build. When I go to destroy it so I can place it somewhere else, I can't do that either.

Hi! When in build mode there are some options on the right hand side of the screen. One of them is select/destroy structures. Make sure you have that selected. This is to prevent you from accidentally moving/deleting your house while decorating the interiors. Usually when i run into an area where it says i have to clear the area first its because of a small bit of grass. double check to make sure there is nothing blocking it. if not then you may need to move it to a more open area :)
