The animation glitched out during the opening of the door to the chicken coop (the character ended up facing away from the door), and the 'Open' interface for the door did not appear again.

This sounds more like the petting interfering with the door opening as there is not "door opening" animation. The coops do have a lot of issues opening when anything else is near the doors(objects or animals) which is planned to be improved.
