When trying to open the chicken coop (normal door not chicken door) a lot of the time the chickens are trying to path find out of that door too. I end up not being able to open to door and it defaults to petting them through the door.

yes, this is an issue for me as well, but they also crowd their chicken door, making opening either difficult and a bit frustrating.

I agree with this one too. When I go to the chicken coop to open it, I get both E for pet and E for open, and I never see the door open. And the chickens are apparently not smart enough to use the coop door when I open that one, so I think their mechanics could be improved overall.

I'm having issues getting them to use the latch door. They all want to go out the big door instead.
