This is the third time this has happened in a row and I've given up trying to play these last 2 in game days.
My backpack and bento pockets are extremely full from stocking up on groceries, and I've been buying plastic pellets to make some more storage. I have 3 bins, 3 cardboard boxes, and several appliances next to my tent. While cycling through my pockets using the bumper buttons, I inevitably hit it too many times too quickly and it tries to open the tool wheel while I'm in the menu to put things away in the plastic bin. This freezes the game and there's nothing I can do but restart the whole day.
